And yes. I remember playing pong in my parents basement. I had an Atari, Intellivsion, and an nes. My first 8088 in 1984. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_PCjr
I remember the days of the old IBM PCjr....and Apple's rendition (LC II?)a short time/same time after. HEH HEH, I remember when we bought our first IBM Clone, it was 8086 with a 5.25 floppy, monochrome graphics, and best yet: a bastardized version of DOS and Word Perfect 5.1 (c:\wp\wp51.exe). Then we got smart and let my Uncle get us a Mac Performa 675 (I think that was the model), with a 3.5 floppy @ 1.44MB, a 200MB Hard Drive, Mac OS 7.5 and the baddest thing of all: a Global Village Teleport Gold Modem running at an insane speed of 14.4kbps (the first modem we had ran at 9 baud :P). At this time, I was introduced to BBS's!! A few years later came Prodigy and AOL (anyone remember the AOHELL name/etc generator?).
Also, I disagree with the wiki article Video Game Console. Here is what they say:
The Nintendo 64 was Nintendo's answer to the growing dominance of the PlayStation. It was a 64-bit console, the only one generally recognized in that class despite the 64 bit Atari Jaguar, which had actually been released earlier.
That is the dumbest statement regarding the Jaguar being the first 64-bit console, because it had 2 32-bit processors running "together" equaling 64-bits.
OK, Im done....thanks alot Scro!! Make me get lost when all I was trying to do was find the bathroom in this place. sheesh!
